Recently, this has happened to me in reverse.
A friend pushed and pushed and pushed - too much - and finally I realized I simply can't help. It isn't a case of not giving a damn but rather a case of realizing I am not the one who can help them.
First, they have to realize they need help. Then, of course, they have to want it.
