Curling AND Hockey golden moments....
I am not normally a curling fan, but I was one today.
I am a huge hockey fan and I am so proud of our Women's Olympic team coming back from being two in the hole and winning the whole thing 3 - 2 in overtime.
This has been an exciting day so far and I haven't left the house yet!

I will survive!
And finally, for today, this could be Lexi's theme song - in fact I think it already is. I am going to put this quote in her time capsule for later in life if ever she feels she can't overcome any obstacle.
I believe she can and will do it all.

Celebrating!
And just seconds after sending her Zamboni down the steps to the lower level she was celebrating. Never mind that the Zamboni was a bit banged up in the flight. Lexi loved it!
Figuring out the Zamboni
If you look closely you will see Lexi's Zamboni at her feet. She is working on mastering the remote control - it's a first for her!

Old Souls
My reasoning for sharing this quote with you on Valentine's Day is perhaps because I am an old soul.
You?

February 14th
Good morning to all of my blogging friends and Happy Valentine's Day to you.
Single men and women often dislike this particular date and I am sometimes in that count. I seem to have come out of it though - I see Valentine's Day through my grandchildren's eyes now. Their cards are priceless. In Lexi's case - she can regift a card in a flash if you walk into her home and she decides to give you a card she has already given to someone else! And she does it with a smile.
Oh to be that innocent!

Warming up my balcony...what do you think?
I purchased this Marilyn Munroe scarf last year when a store near my condo was going out of business. I knew I would not wear it necessarily but thought I might decorate with it somehow...and this morning I braved the cold to decorate my balcony just a bit. What do you think?

Storm!
I often find that storms in Toronto aren't really storms as I knew them growing up in Wilmot, Nova Scotia.
Yesterday was the exception. We really did have a storm day.

Rich Heart - Poor Coat
So true don't you think? It is easy to judge and we've all been guilty of it at one time or another. When I saw this photo and read the quote it spoke volumes to me.

My Caramilk...
No one should eat as many Caramilk bars as I have consumed in the past. Last year I tried to quit - cold turkey as they say. I fell off the wagon mid January.
This year I was a bit more gentle with myself and decided I could, at the very least, stop eating two bars a day. But, I also told myself I could buy one bar when required. No need to quit totally.
Results - I made it through all of January without one bar and I have no need to purchase one yet!
I'm on to something ...

Time
As a cancer survivor I know this to be true.
Never put off those things of importance. I left Bell Canada on January 31st twenty years ago. Yes, it has been that long. During these past 20 years I have been able to cross a number of things off my bucket list. Still have plenty to do.
What's on your bucket list??

Someday
I am guilty of putting things off now and then, saying I will get to it someday. I won't say that any longer, or I will try not to.

Taking that First Step
I shared this photo on facebook a few days ago as a shout out to a young woman I am proud to mentor. She was feeling unable to take that first step in her chosen career and I felt this quote might ring true with her.
It did...and it rang true for many other readers as well so I wanted to share it here with you.

My guys ...
Jalen and James came to town on January 31st to help me celebrate 20 years post Bell. I have been working on my second career for twenty years already....And Jalen is taller than his Nana.
How did that happen?

Superbowl Sunday
Nine years ago my grandson, Jalen, was my date at a Superbowl party and Gene and Clare's loft - just a short walk down the hall from my loft. So much have changed. Jalen is now nine years old and out lofts are no more. Maybe someday??
