I will be flying to Sydney on October 31st but will travel via plane rather than broom. Perhaps I should rethink my black wardrobe too!

Halifax photo
This photo was taken while I was speaking at the 9th annual Simply the Breast fundraiser in Halifax last week. Next year (Oct 14th I believe) will be Carol Lesbirel's 10th annual and you can bet it will be spectacular. Hope to be there.
Money raised goes to the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Atlantic Region so it's all good.
Have a great weekend all - I am off to visit family beginning with Jalen's hockey game (Snow snow go away.............)

A Night On the Town in Halifax
Look closely and you will see three lamp posts. As I understand it, there was a competition among Art students in Halifax and this one was the winner.
The images reflect three men out on the town - one lamp post is, if you look very closely you will see it, almost laying down, one is hanging over the edge doing God-knows-what and the third lamp post is staggering around.
Over lunch at the Bicycle Thief (where Bish once stood) this was all explained to me. It really is quite funny and rather innovative.

Friends connecting with friends
There are many who love facebook and many who do not. Say what you will but there is room for both views.
Yesterday I heard from a Bell-retiree lady, we had only met once 'on the job' and now, years later, she is facing a cancer journey and wanted to contact me. She found me on facebook easily enough.
I an a great believer in leaning on family when they have more knowledge than I and I will be contacting my sister/brother in law (nurse/doctor) to learn more about a cancer that is new to me - chondrosarcoma.
I am grateful that with all this lady has to deal with she was able to find me with quick trip to facebook.
From the heart,
Carol Ann

Toronto's Distillery District ...worth the visit
It's like stepping back in time honestly and you feel worlds away from where you actually are - in the heart of a concrete jungle! Plan a trip to the Distillery district - you'll be glad you did.

A Toast to the Coast - Halifax October 18th
We often ignore the quality of quiet.
I will speak about our listening skills (or lack of) and much more when I speak at the 9th annual Toast to the Coast on Friday October 18th at the beautiful Lord Nelson Hotel in Halifax. www.atoasttothecoast.com will give you lots of information about the event. This is a huge fundraiser for the Canadian Breast Cancer Foundation - Atlantic Region and is put together and hosted by the School of Business Alumni at Dalhousie University.
I hope you will join me.

There is always time to Dance
No matter how busy Lexi's day becomes she always finds time to slow down and dance with a doll or two. I love it - we should do the same.

For my Bell buddies ...
For my friends at Bell this "cord board" will bring back memories for a few of you. I saw this and more at a Museum in Guysborough NS during my vacation with my sisters in September.
I have no idea how old this phone is ...but it's old!
