Lexi and ' her people '
Tracey took this picture of Lexi yesterday and I love it. Lexi has just arranged 'her people' around the table as you can see. Even the dog gets to sit at the table!
Her looks are changing all the time - I think she looks more and more like her Mommy.
Have a safe Sunday.

Printer's Proofs - one more time
By the time the printer's proofs reach your desk there really should be no changes required. Really?
Yes, really. If you are self publishing your book everything should be signed, sealed and delivered to your printer exactly as you want it to be printed.
Not so in the case of From the Heart. My friends at CBCF - Atlantic pointed out four things that may not have been totally incorrect but to make everything totally correct we needed to make the changes. And they were right. And, one of the changes was to the back cover. Ouch! I had missed that.
However, all is okay this fine sunny Saturday morning. We made the corrections, signed off on the book at this stage and the nice courier-man arrived at my door (well, he arrived in my lobby) late Friday and now From the Heart is out of my hands.
Next stop - books!
My nerves are shattered but some retail therapy will fix that.

Printer's Proofs
I don't want to show you the entire cover but I am, at this moment, combing through the printer's proofs that were delivered to my door yesterday. Pressure!!!!

Typing class of 1964
While this is not my actual typing class of 1964 it could be.
The hair, the clothing and the typewriters all fit.
I have great memories of that one year with our teacher, Miss Whitney. I still call her Miss Whitney all these years later and am proud to say that I also call her my friend.
I met Nancy that year as well. Nancy came from another school to take the "commercial course" at MRHS - she won the typing contest but we didn't hold that against her.
Great classroom memories! Lots of learning and lots of fun.
Have a gentle Tuesday everyone.

It's official ...
It is official - From the Heart is now in the hands of the printers so we are moving ahead one step at a time.
I have not self-published before and it brings with it an entire new set of issues and worries, and time lines and worries and, and growing pains and worries.
Not sure I will do it again. I have an entire new appreciation for publishers!
From the Heart won't be out until mid May but stay tuned and I will keep you updated with ordering information if you are interested.
Thanks for caring,
Carol Ann
PS I will share pictures of the book cover as soon as I can.

Couture
I did it - purchased this piece yesterday. Had to put the top down on my MX-5 to get it home but it worked. Have moved so many things around today to find the perfect home for it but all done now.
That is what Sunday's are for after all - enjoying your home I mean.

Value Village
Yesterday a friend and I drove to Richmond Hill (CAA had to come and start my car so I needed to give it a bit of a run) to visit a friend. She was not in so we returned via Yonge St and stopped in at the Richmond Hill Value Village. I don't remember the last time I was inside a VV and believe me they sell everything. I did leave with a great 'find' in these dishes that I will keep for Lexi. They are breakable so not a good gift for a two year old. I always seem to find hearts wherever I go.

One of my favourites....
As anyone who knows me is well aware, I move furniture around in my condo all the time. My art moves during what I call my "Spring-thing" and this morning one of my favourites is on the move. The Atlantic Region of CBCF gave me this artwork when I moved into my current home - I love it. All about hearts and so 'me' don't you think?
Have a wonderful Saturday.

Stompin' Tom ...
Several years ago, when Jalen was five years old, I gave him Stompin' Tom's "Hockey Song" book at Christmas time. I gave it to him on Christmas Eve so we could sneak off to his room and he could read through the book - he did that once and was eager to sing it when I explained who Stompin' Tom was and why he had written this book.
On Christmas morning Jalen entertained everyone as he explained his new book and encouraged us to join him in singing the chorus. A great memory for all....
Family photo
Tracey was in town this past Sunday with Lexi and Jalen - I am often the one taking the photo so don't get to be in many shots. I love this one!
Linda Power was also in town from NS to visit with me and her son Ryan . Thanks to Linda for taking the picture.
Children are growing so fast.

Sometimes when you break something all is not lost
This beautiful wine glass recently fell to the floor - you know how that happens from time to time. A friend suggested I remove all of the broken glass but keep it as a candle holder - it contains beautiful pewter and the stem was not broken so Voila! Lesson learned - the next time you break something don't be too hasty to trash it. I had to dig this out of the trash because I had been to quick to assume nothing could be salvaged.
Couture
For some reason it looks like "blogger" is allowing me to attach new photos today so perhaps my past issues with blogger are behind me. I will try to drop in here more often.
So, last week I ventured in to a new store on Yonge St - near the Summerhill subway stop. www.decorium.com will help you understand why I was so taken with much of their furniture and artwork. I am contemplating purchasing this piece - what do you think of it? I am already moving things around from one wall to another so I must have already made the decision to make the purchase...we will see. Love the red.
Have a great weekend everyone.
From the heart,
Carol Ann
